The double-wall, vacuum-insulated thermal carafe keeps your coffee hot, and the brew-through, pour-through lid means you don't have to fuss with opening the carafe lid before pouring. To maintain the quality of the coffee, the Better Brew precision of our 8-cup Coffee Maker relies instead on a thermal carafe, which prevents heat loss, rather than reheating. Clean exterior regularly with a damp cloth and wipe dry. Hand wash carafe and lid with mild detergent after use. Rinse clean. Removable parts are all top-rack dishwasher safe (brew basket, single serve brew basket, coffee scoop, well cover, and Rainmaker). If you prefer your coffee hotter, we recommend using a double-walled insulated mug and preheating any milk or creamer you add to your coffee. Our team has done extensive testing and found that the greatest heat loss happens when coffee is poured from the carafe to the mug. While many coffee makers have a heating element under the carafe, this can sometimes result in a bitter, burned or condensed brew.
